Eagle Tower, Peninsula State Park

Eagle Tower Postcard

This past weekend H and I went to hike the new Eagle Tower at Peninsula State Park.

This place is one of our favorites. We have been so many times I can’t count. It’s kind of tradition to hike the park, and climb the tower. They have been rebuilding the tower for a few years and it finally reopened this past May. It was well worth the wait!

The new Eagle Tower is a pretty amazing structure.

The reconstructed tower replaced the one built in 1932 — and dismantled in 2016 — and stands at 60 feet high. While that’s 15 feet shorter than the last tower, it still offers panoramic views of the park, nearby islands and Upper Michigan shoreline.

The tower’s position on Eagle Bluff offers viewers on the top observation deck an additional boost above the bay of Green Bay, for a total of 253 feet.

Access to the deck is available via the stairs or the 850-foot accessible ramp. Here’s a story on the reopening.

It’s a must see and completely incredible. If you guys don’t have anything planned for this coming weekend. Take a drive up and do some hiking, swimming, and grilling in the park. A family picnic is always good for the soul. Being outdoors can be the cure for just about anything. It won’t disappoint I promise!

Peninsula State Park is one of the biggest, busiest, but still one of our best of our state parks. Check out the map of the park here:

ENJOY the pictures. It was so much fun to take them. The sky was so blue and the water almost matched completely. I can’t wait to go back. The actual ramp is also super beautiful. The wood smells amazing and with each stop you get closer and closer to the water!

As you arrive at the top this new tower is so open. It feels like you are on top of the world. The view of the lake, Ephraim and the island are incredible. You can take your time on the way up also if you aren’t a big hiker. The incline is easy to do and you can go at your own pace.

It’s a view that does not disappoint! It’s a MUST SEE in Door County!

There is so much to do in Door County, WI. This is just one must do stop. I will have a series coming next spring with a bunch of day trips and Door County will be on the list for sure. If you check out my Top 5 spots. There are some Door County tips and spots on my list.

Two of my favorite shops in Wisconsin are in Door County. You could stop at both of them on your trip to Eagle Tower. Maxwell House is in Egg Harbor, WI and Sister Golden is in Fish Creek, WI.

Green Bay
We live in an incredible place! Go adventure and check it out!

Have a great last week of summer everyone! Make the of it. It goes quick! Whatever you do this coming weekend, have fun, make memories and be thankful!
