Happy 75th Birthday MOM!!

What is a mom?

Mom and Amy
This must be 1976 if I had to guess. I was 3 and I loved to put on my mom’s fancy boots!

Yesterday was my mom’s 75th birthday. When I think about that I almost can’t believe it. I vividly remember the first time I looked at our hands clasped together and I started to see age spots on her’s and not mine. I can remember seeing them and thinking I saw a difference. In the skin tone, the way they slightly wrinkled, and how mine where so smooth. Holding her hand has always been a favorite thing of mine to do. Every time we get in the car to go somewhere she always takes mine. It’s just her thing. Her way of being my mom and showing affection.

My grandmother Arlene did the same thing. She would always take my hand and I always remember studying it. Watching her age through her hands. Spinning her diamond ring around and asking to wear it! I miss her so.

It’s hard to believe how time flies. Hard to believe that we have been best friends for almost 50 years. I have looked up to her for my entire life. I’ve watched her put on her make up and do her hair. Asked her for guidance. Listened to her teach me to do so many things I can’t count. Well I don’t listen very well so I would say watch her maybe, LOL! As I have grown older I listen better but I still wouldn’t say I’m good at it. Yesterday I listened a lot. I am getting better at it.

We were able to spend time in a few of our favorite spots throughout the day and I have to share.

Hidden Hollow

Hidden Hollow Garden Art is one of my favorite spots in the world. Jamie is truly an amazing artist. I love to garden more than most and I LOVE color, so this little place is a haven for me.

Jamie makes the most beautiful garden art I have ever seen. The place has a feeling of life! It literally takes me off my feet and makes me feel lighter. It is so uplifting it’s unreal. She has the gift of pure magic! Color and happiness everywhere and with the 100% intention of encouraging you to be kind, and put forth good! I can’t think of anywhere but the forest I would rather be.

Creme & Crepe

Our favorite spot in Wisconsin for lunch is the Creme & Crepe Cafe in Cedarburg, WI. We have been coming here for literally years. Ever since I can remember.

The Settlement in Cedarburg, WI is one of our favorite spots. We have really been coming here for, well, as far back as I can remember. We get the same lunch every time. It’s boring I know, but we do. A glass of white wine from the winery, a Dusty Miller Crepe, and a cup of the cream of broccoli soup=PERFECTION! You can view their menu here. I can’t think of anywhere I would rather spend time for lunch. It’s quiet, bright, and cheery and the food is fresh and simply divine!

Leap of Faith

Outside of Leap of Faith
My FAVORITE SPOT for jewelry, journals, gifts and little things for myself!

This is THE BEST spot for gifts. Leap of Faith is the best little store around. If I had a store it would be pretty close to this! Amy, the owner is the genius behind this little spot of heaven. She really knows “what’s up!” She has ALL the little pieces of heaven YOU WANT! I can’t begin to start a list for you, you JUST HAVE TO GO! I promise it won’t disappoint!

Jeez I just shared tons of my favorite things! By far getting to be with my mom was the highlight of my day! I can’t imagine a world without her in it! Happy Birthday mommy, I love to the moon and back and again…
